Chicago, IL November 23, 2009 – American Cadastre LLC (DBA AMCAD), a Herndon, Virginia,-based company, working with and for the Clerk of the Court for Cook County, Illinois, Ms. Dorothy Brown and her IT staff, has “turned on” and now has a live   Imaging and Document Management System as part of the $6.3 million project for the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. The “turn on” was for the Chancery Court which is a part of the Clerks plan to automate 16 county courts/districts in the Clerk’s office over the next year and one half.

“The AMCAD team was a partner and an exceptional company in the installation of the largest project ever for the Clerk’s office. We will see dramatic benefits in customer service, a more efficient and speedy judicial process and will continue my vision to automate our offices with technology to better serve the citizens of Cook County” said Dorothy Brown, Clerk of the Circuit Court for the county.

“The first court automated with the system is the Chancery Court which will  reduce the dependence on moving paper to process court cases and documents, will provide the capability to track and process electronic documents, and also will allow for tracking of physical documents and evidence,” Brown said.  By using AMCAD’s IDMS system, the Clerk’s office expects to improve productivity and speed the workflow of “due process.”

“The system now in place will reduce costs by improving productivity, reducing paper costs, allow for public access and printing of documents and provide instant access to documents for the public and the court workers of Cook County” stated Ms. Bridget Dancy, CIO.

Cook County is the second largest court system in the nation, and has one of the largest court operations in the world.  The Clerk’s office employs more than 1,900 people to serve the people of Cook County.
