Assisted Indexing PDF Print E-mail

Like AmRedact, AmCad Assisted Indexing (AmAI) is fully owned and maintained by AmCad. The AmAI engine performs Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for machine print text. The AmAI engine evaluates the quality of an image and available index information such as Case/Document Type, Parties, etc. to determine how to best process that image.

Rules can be created to allow the process to ignore certain document types that do not need to be evaluated for redaction and/or indexing – thus streamlining the process. Candidate information, including person names and corporation names, is extracted from the document and populated in AmCad's Data Entry module. Assisted Indexing is designed to assist indexers and reduce the number of keystrokes required to index a document. Because the AmAI engine works independently from the AiLIS system, documents are always available for indexing.

Users have the ability to manually add additional document types to the system, which allows the user to have high-level control over the processing of these documents (e.g. turning AmAI on or off for specific document types, setting confidence thresholds, etc.) In addition, users have the ability to specify specific pages to be sent through the OCR, thus increasing both the accuracy and performance of the Assisted Indexing OCR process.
